English Only

We are voting on making English the Official Language to conduct official government business in Nashville, TN.

I for one support it because I believe what President Theodore Roosevelt said in 1914:

"We have room for but one language in this country, and that is the English language, for we intend to see that the crucible turns our people out as Americans, of American nationality, and not as dwellers in a polyglot boarding house."

We should be of One Nation, One Constitution and bound by One Language.

I am of the opinion that the arguments put forth by the opponents of the English Only initiative are fallacious.

Where I live...

I moved to a wonderful area located near downtown Nashville, TN in the Spring of 2001. I live in a little condo which started life as a Stone Cottage Duplex. It was built, or so I have been told, in the mid 1930's. It suffered through years of neglect brought about by "flight" of city-dwellers for the promises of the "great suburban outback" as most cities faced during the 60s and 70s.

After a tornado struck this area in the late 1990's and people coming to their senses regarding living near/in the city, my current residence was renovated and subsequently bought by me; Yeah!

If you are interested I am including a link to the neighborhood website.
